Rachel King

Meet Rachel King. She’s The Dreyfus Group’s resident millennial agent and sells real estate bi-coastally in both Silicon Valley and New York City.

Q: Before working with The Dreyfus Group, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I was working in the fixed income trading division of Lehman Brothers in 2008 DURING the crash, that was crazy! I was also an intern on the Howard Stern Show in college…also crazy!

Q: What do you like most about working with The Dreyfus Group?

The people! We have a really experienced, professional and diverse group. I am always learning something new. Michael is the best team leader, he always does the right thing, is super honest, and leads by example. I am so impressed by The Dreyfus Group agents I work with. Their ethics, knowledge, creativity; the lengths they go to for their clients; and their unbelievable deal making abilities. I am so proud to be part of this group.

Q: What is your motto or personal mantra?

"On to the next." In real estate and life in general, the highs can be so high, and the lows can be low. You've got to roll with the punches, be resilient, bounce back quickly, smile, be positive and move on to the next!

Q: What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I am currently affiliated with the Ronald McDonald House in Palo Alto. I volunteer with sick children and their families every week. My husband and I are really passionate about giving. We started our own non-profit called "The Dan and Rachel Foundation." We focus our efforts on cancer research and families and children of those affected by cancer.

Q: What's the last Google search you did?

To be honest, it was "Snoogle Pregnancy Pillow." I am currently 21 weeks pregnant! Cannot wait for our little one to come in March. This pillow is a miracle for sleeping through the night!

Q: If you could change one thing about the industry at the moment, what would it be and why?

Online property valuation estimates. They are rarely accurate. They often give homeowners false expectations and can be misleading. You really need a qualified broker to accurately evaluate your home, the market landscape and comp properties for you.

Q: When are you happiest?

I am happiest when I am outdoors. I LOVE hiking and skiing. Living in the Bay Area is perfect since any given day, I could ski in Tahoe, go to the beach, go wine tasting in Napa, or do a beautiful hike. It is all within reach.

Q: What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?

I was day dreaming about this during the huge recent Mega Millions Lottery and it would 100% be Michael and Lisa's off-market Woodside listing! Check it out if you haven't already done so. It is truly a dream property!
